The Say Yes Initiative

A CREATIVE MOVEMENT FROM THE TRUE HEARTS OF MEN

Namely, the men who recognise

that there is a problem with unhealthy masculine energy.

Men who have taken responsibility for their part in it and

are doing their personal growth work for the betterment of everyone,

women, children, themselves and the wider community.

 1. We say YES to all men who hold themselves accountable for their actions, and are self-correcting their behaviour when the need arises, and are practising a more heart-felt way of being in the world.

2. To help break the cycle of depression, suicide, disorders, illness, depravity and violence in our society, we men say YES to a shift in the way we think of ourselves as men, and to tap into our true hearts.

3. To help break the cycle of masculine shame and blame SYI calls on a shift in the way we as a society treat men, particularly those who may struggle with issues of aggression, anger, control etc.

4. SYI asserts that today’s culture must shift to a more positive way of thinking about, encouraging and acknowledging the true & beautiful hearts of men.

5. SYI calls on men to surrender our need for control and to say YES to respect for all women and all men, and to say YES to the *sovereignty of all women and all men.

6. We say Yes to all the good men who stand up to be seen in their integrity and their magnificence so our boys have visible role models to inspire them to grow into the best man he can be.

7. We call on our brothers to Say Yes to support; to Say Yes to self-care; to Say Yes to breaking through the cycle of despair into peace in our hearts and our homes.

8. SYI recognises the profound importance of fatherhood.  We believe that one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of violence is to encourage the connection of fathers to their children wherever possible and safe.  We Say a big Yes to fathers.

9. We Say Yes to the people who work to circumvent the cycle of violence: those dedicated souls who work to break the cycle, and those beautiful people, men and women, who work to heal the wounds, comfort the aggrieved and teach the life skills so vital in creating personal, domestic & family peace. You are all our true, real life super heroes.

10. The Say Yes Initiative does not discriminate nor demonstrate against anyone or anything.  We dare instead to imagine and work towards a cultural shift that brings us to a more positive, more creative way of being in the world.
